Spring / Summer 25
Rays of our sun, refracted and dissipated in the vast expanse of our skies, forms ethereal colour spectrums as they dance with the clouds. When the light pierces through and touches the seas, the rippling sparkles of shine reflected on the water is truly a sight to behold. This exquisite visual display, in all its lightness and serenity, became the defining mood and feel for our spring-summer 2025 collection.
Our story for the season begins with our selection of delicate fabrics, fine lurex knits and light zari-viscose blends and chiffons, all having a wonderfully sophisticated sheen, that we hand-dyed in various soft spectrums of the sky.
We married these fabrics with our signature hand-embroideries but in very considered ways, our TPU yarn embroideries were re-imagined as light fringes, while our dimensional sequin work took the form of light tassels, and our metallic Zari yarns were Ari embroidered in minimal ways on the garments to maintain the lightness of the pieces.
The silhouettes of our pieces too were crafted to recreate the airiness and expansiveness of our mood, characterised with long drapes, soft trains and new elongated bias cuts that organically blend with the form and movement of our hand embroideries.
Ultimately, our endeavour this season was to create a summer collection that made our customers feel light and elegant, without compromising any of the innovative and luxurious elements that have become synonymous with our brand. Here’s to a summer with the AKHL woman basking in the summer sun, touched by the soft breeze, looking effortlessly natural and radiant.
Prima Donna
Fall / Winter 24
The feminine form takes centre stage. We turn our focus, in dramatic fashion, to sculpting our signature handwork textiles into new-age and shape-oriented eveningwear.
We’ve particularly reinvented our Zari-Ari embroideries, developing them into dynamic tape-like forms and sculpting them on the body to form statuesque silhouettes. Arc-shaped patterns in mirror leatherette have been top-stitched and hand-appliqued to emphasise the curves and circularity of the body, while our state-of-art upcycled TPU yarn embroideries have been cut and formed in fringes and stripes to emphasise the angles of the female form.
These complex handwork embroideries and textiles sit on a base of structured metallic Lurex-tulles and heavy textured satins, in striking shades of ebony, ivory and a range of metallics from gold and pewter to silver and bronze.
