The road from imagery to design began with finding order in chaos, beauty in the forsaken and intricacy in the decrepit.

At it's core, however, it was about innovation, creating readily embellished woven fabrics straight off of the loom. A new frontier in textile design, wherein embellishment is inherent to a fabric, rooted in the warp and weft, and not simply a surface treatment.

Many paradoxes, however, also came to define this project, both in the visual research elements and the final designs.

In terms of materiality, the paradox of exhibiting softness meant for human skin interaction, and hardness, reflecting the imagery and essential for creating embellished features.

While in an aesthetic sense, the great paradox of revealing confinement with freedom

and structure with dynamism.
